Barbara Johnson Low helped create the East Lyme Puppetry Project Inc. in 2013 when she returned to her hometown. From 1985 to 2008 she was President of the Michigan-based, educational consulting firm Media Works, specializing in multimedia curriculum design, production, presentation and community relations. This included the multiple EMMY nominated children’s series “Can Do!” of which she was designer, producer and host.

She holds a BS in Elementary Education and an MA in Instructional Media and Technology. And…she developed her absolute love for teaching, learning and creating powerful presentations that do both, right here in town - first as a student of Mr. Waterman and many other fine teachers, and then as a fourth and fifth grade teacher at Lillie B Haynes School.

Barbara officially retired from The East Lyme Puppetry Project on June 14, 2022.
