  • Butterworth Productions

    Dan Butterworth is an international award winning puppeteer. Known for his large scale shows and educational workshops, he’s been featured in opera, classic festivals, film, and television. He has performed in every state of the US, across Canada, and China. Dan’s specialties are animated sets, shadow and marionette puppetry.

  • TangleWood Marionettes

    Founded in 1993, TangleWood Marionettes is a nationally touring marionette theater based in New England. Large, beautifully hand-crafted marionettes, colorful sets, and integrated lighting and sound create a fully immersive theatrical experience. Their highly skilled puppeteers have spent many years perfecting their art, delighting audiences of all ages as they bring their repertoire of classic tales to life. They are the recipients of two UNIMA awards, puppetry’s highest honor, for their productions An Arabian Adventure, and The Dragon King.

  • Connecticut Guild of Puppetry

    The Connecticut Guild of Puppetry’s mission is to provide a meeting place and forum where people with an interest and love of the art form may share knowledge, ideas, trends, and creative endeavors.

    It is the intent of the guild to encourage the raising of standards of the art of puppetry; To foster awareness in the general public of the magic, wonder and power of the puppet; And to encourage the use of puppetry as an educational tool.

  • CactusHead Puppets

    CactusHead Puppets is a touring company based in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. Known for their playful performance style and exuberant creativity, CactusHead tours throughout the Northeast with fun shows and workshops for all ages.

  • Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers

    Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers is a puppetry troupe based in Bar Harbor, Maine, and comprised of three siblings - brothers Erik and Brian Torbeck and sister Robin (Torbeck) Erlandsen. Founded in 2000, Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers has performed at festivals, schools, libraries and theatres in the United States and Canada. They write and create all the shows they perform and have received three Citations of Excellence from UNIMA-USA, the highest national award in puppetry.

  • Playdate Puppets

    Ronny Wasserstrom has performed with various NYC based marionette companies since the 1990s. In 2008 he started Playdate Puppets with the aim of having as much interaction between puppets and audience as possible. With this aim he began mounting shows outdoors at parks throughout the city.

  • Tenacious Theatrics

    Tenacious Theatrics was created by and for individuals who are passionate about keeping the arts alive, especially during these current times.

    This new and creative theatre group endeavors to take advantage of the technologies readily available and develop a process where they can keep theatre and music alive not only for themselves, but for audiences worldwide. In this vain, they continue to strive to satiate, to some degree, a missing need.

  • Pumpernickel Puppets

    For over forty years the Pumpernickel Puppets have captivated audiences of all ages with humorous and colorful adaptations of classic folk and fairy tales. John McDonough and his puppets present over two hundred fifty shows a year at schools, libraries and private parties throughout the New England area.

    The Pumpernickel Puppets have had the honor of appearing at The Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC, The Center for Puppetry Arts, Atlanta, GA and the prestigious International Festival of Puppetry sponsored by the Jim Henson Foundation in New York.

  • Tim Giugni

    Tim Giugni is a physical comedy and puppetry professional, and a collaborator in theater and mixed media. A talented director, writer, and touring performer, Mr. Giugni has been involved in small and large productions. He's a multiple award winner, including an Emmy and a Best Actor at a puppetry festival award from Stara Zagora.

    In 1996 he founded Teatro Calamari, a puppetry and physical theater troupe. Touring to Brazil, Bulgaria, and throughout the US with programs that feature an outstanding use of ensemble, puppetry and physical theater.

  • Lionheart Puppet Company

    Drawing from a rich history of classic stories and fairy tales, the Lionheart Puppet Company is dedicated to the production of quality puppet shows for audiences of all ages. They have a small, but growing, selection of touring shows that can be brought to your school, library, or other events.

  • Sandglass Theater

    Sandglass Theater is a renowned theater company specializing in combining puppets with music, actors, and visual imagery. Since 1982, the company’s productions have toured internationally in nearly 30 countries, performing in theaters, festivals and cultural institutions and winning numerous international prizes. It is a not-for-profit organization and is a member of the Network of Ensemble Theaters and the National Performance Network.

  • Fairytale Marionettes

    Fairy Tale Marionettes is a traveling musical marionette troupe based in New York City, performing at local festivals, private parties and in the parks. Founded by Katharine Kaspar and Arlee Chadwick.

  • Tears of Joy Theater

    Tears of Joy Theatre was a puppet theatre company located in the Portland metropolitan area of Oregon. It was founded in 1971 by Janet and Reg Bradley. The company toured two to four shows a year to schools and civic centers in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Nevada. It toured libraries and put on mainstage shows in the Portland Metro area yearly. They are the recipient of four Citations of Excellence from UNIMA USA in Puppetry Arts (issued by the organization Puppeteers of America).

    Tears of Joy Theater ended operations August 25, 2019.
